Smart Madinah Forum (SMF2023) will take place on February 19-21 in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The event organised by Madinah Region Development Authority MRDA and UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme). The event brings an exciting opportunity to exchange about how to design the Smart Cities of the future towards achievement of SDGs and a sustainable economic growth. A forum that gathers the best thought leaders and experts from all over the world to discuss the challenges cities are facing and the future opportunities. A space for open discussion and collaboration to detect and share the opportunities to shape and form smart and sustainable cities. An opportunity to present the best international practices and experiences that enable smart and sustainable cities. The forum brings international thought leaders and a group of subject matter experts from Singapore, Europe, and the USA, altogether with representatives from national entities, consultancy firms, and multinational technology companies.
FIWARE has strong partnership with the city of Madinah as a Platinum member of FIWARE community. City platform Raseel is implemented in Madinah and based on FIWARE technology. Our CTO Juanjo Hierro during SMF23 participates in panel disccussion dedicated to FIWARE standardisation and Open-Source orientation. They discuss the modern and flexible software architecture and how Platform meets the demand driven approach. Several FIWARE members are also present on the event. Among them AWS represented by Ali Benfattoum (Principal Evangelist, IoT and Smart Cities, Libellium by Antonio Jara (Chief Scientific Officer), etc. On the first day of the event FIWARE recieved an official recognition on stage from Madinah officials.
