The Smart City Forum has developed into the largest German network for digitisation in urban areas. The aim of the network is to accompany the digital transformation of cities and municipalities and at the same time to promote the implementation of the EU’s climate protection goals in the context of the European innovation partnership “Smart Cities and Communities”. Initially, the network was able to start lighthouse projects within the framework of European and national funding programs.
With the knowledge gained from these activities and the desire for a functioning market, the network began to get involved in the standardisation of “Smart City Solutions” in 2016.
In this way, the members jointly create the conditions for a lead market for digital transformation, taking into account municipal interests and framework conditions.
Every year, three to four technical discussions take place in different locations, at which members from cities, regions, public utilities, energy companies, organisations, associations, companies, research institutions, universities and politics exchange views on the subject of SMART CITY.
This time our CEO Ulrich Ahle will join meeting in person in Berlin on March 29.
