ROS World Goes Digital in 2020 with FIWARE and micro-ROS

Oct 30, 2020Tech

FIWARE Foundation is excited to be heading to ROS World on 12 November 2020. The event, like many (if not all) events in 2020 is going digital, offering the entire ROS Community a free event that will be live-streamed across the world.

With FIWARE Gold Member eProsima as a Platinum Member of the event, we are pleased to be joining forces with eProsima to present topics, such as the micro-ROS project, FIWARE for Robotics, and the ALMA project. micro-ROS is a robotic framework targeting embedded and deep-embedded robot components with extremely constrained computational resources. The project, of which FIWARE is a consortium partner, enables the interoperability of traditional robots with IoT sensors and devices, creating truly distributed robotic systems using a common framework. ALMA, on the other hand, aims to leverage AML properties to develop a new generation of interactive, human-centric machine learning systems.

Please find below the full agenda of the FIWARE track in collaboration with eProsima and Algebraic.AI, which will take place from 13:45-15:15 (CST) / 20:45-22:15 (CET).

13:45-14:00 (CST) / 20:45-21:00 (CET) — FIWARE & Robotics: Driving the Future of Robotics-based Smart Solutions – Juanjo Hierro (CTO, FIWARE Foundation)
14:00-14:30 (CST) / 21:00-21:30 (CET) — Micro-ROS: ROS2 on Microcontrollers – Francesca Finocchiaro (micro-ROS Team Leader)
14:30-15:00 (CST) / 21:30-22:00 (CET) — FIWARE for Robotics-based Agile Production – Francisco Melendez (FIWARE Robotics Expert, FIWARE Foundation)
15:00-15:15 (CST) / 22:00-22:15 (CET) — ALMA: Bringing AI to ROS2 – Fernando Martin Maroto (CEO, Algebraic.AI)
