From Robotics to Smart Cities: Five Open Calls to Help Bring Your Ideas to Life

DIH² Open Call

 

DIH², the pan‐European network of 26 robotics Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) for Agile Production launched its first open call on 1st July 2019. The European project will be investing close to €3 million over the course of the next eight months. The open call will distribute up to €248,000 to 13 selected consortia. Each consortium will have a maximum of 3 members and must include a technology provider, such as FIWARE, and a manufacturing SME or Mid-Cap. Technology providers can be any type of organization specialized in technology transfer or system integration to end-users. They can consist of system integrators, research, and technology organizations, digital innovation hubs, centers, startups, SMEs.

The 1st stage of the candidacy is open to individual application for: manufacturing SMEs/ “Slighly bigger” (less than 500 employees and €100M turnover) and technology providers (start-up/SME/research organizations, DIH). CloudiFacturing Open Call

 

The EU initiative CloudiFacturing is again looking for innovative applications: From July 1st to September 30th, 2019 they are looking for innovative use cases on cloud/HPC simulation or data analytics. These use cases should clearly state their industrial impact for the involved manufacturing companies, based on their expected benefit from exploiting computational engineering and production services and workflows powered by the CloudiFacturing technology. The total budget of roundly 700,000 Euroes will be granted to seven or more chosen application experiments. Selected proposers can explore technical benefits, enhance existing processes with new information, and leverage the newly developed CloudiFacturing Digital Marketplace sales channel.

AMable Open Call

 

AMable is looking for innovative product ideas that need advanced additive manufacturing to become real. With a solid business case in mind, companies from across the European Union can apply for support from the AMable Services Arena. Twenty of the most renowned research institutes in additive manufacturing have teamed up to accelerate the uptake of AM through skills and knowledge support, packed in a rich portfolio of services. Selected teams of an industrial user and a supplier will be supported by AMable Services and the AMable Digital Data-chain framework that is based on first-class technologies from the Industrial Data Space (IDS) and Blockchain.

SCIFI Open Call

 

The Interreg 2 Seas project Smart City Innovation Framework Innovation (SCIFI) announced its second open call for European startups, SMEs and companies working on Smart City solutions. The open call consists of nine challenges, set by the project partner cities which are Mechelen, Bruges, Delft and Saint Quentin. The goal behind the SCIFI project is establishing relationships and methodologies for cities to source smart, data-driven solutions to their urban challenges. With a budget of up to €10,000 to support pilot, proof of concept, minimum viable product or other solution development goal, this is an excellent opportunity for innovators in the Smart City sector to work with middle sized European cities. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work closely and directly with cities and city clusters to develop open data-based solutions (pilots) to tackle key smart city issues.

CEF Public Open Data Open Call

 

The overall objective of Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) is to enhance the Trans-European Networks/infrastructure (both physical infrastructure and digital infrastructure). This will promote economic growth and supports the completion and functioning of the internal market in support of the competitiveness of the European economy. CEF hereby aims to improve the daily life of citizens, businesses (including SMEs) and administrations. The 2019 CEF Telecom Public Open Data call makes an indicative €5 million of funding available for proposals in this area.
