Learn More About “Platforms for the Smart, Digital Future” During the FIWARE Workshop at Fachaustausch Geoinformation

Nov 26, 2018Smart Cities

Everyone is talking about the challenges of digital change. Municipalities and rural districts have the opportunity to use Smart City approaches to make urban and rural areas more efficient, technologically advanced, greener and more socially inclusive. In this context, public administrations are increasingly interested in “open urban platforms” in order to provide new services for citizens and companies on the basis of data-based applications or to improve existing services.

The FIWARE Foundation has joined forces with GeoNet.MRN to organize a workshop on ‘Platforms for the Smart, Digital Future’ at Fachaustausch Geoinformation. The event accommodates the exchange of experience between interested parties, experts, users and decision-makers from business, science, politics, and administration on possible applications, current topics, and trends in the geoinformation industry.

The workshop, which will be moderated by FIWARE Foundation CEO Ulrich Ahle, is set to take place on November 29th, from 11:45 to 16:30.

Besides the FIWARE platform, the Smart City activities in the MRN, the MVV, the city of Heidelberg as well as numerous best-practice examples will be presented. The session invites experts from business, science, and administration to discuss said topics.
