IoT Workshop in La Plata, Argentina – Enabling the City Through FIWARE

Oct 31, 2018Ecosystem

Many cities use technologies to foster local innovation and increase the efficiency of public services while decreasing costs and breaking down silos. But they are often struggling to extract the promised value out of ICT solutions.

In this framework, FIWARE offers powerful support with its independent open community, whose members commit themselves to materialize the FIWARE mission: “to build a sustainable and open ecosystem around standards of public software platforms, free of royalties and oriented to the implementation that will facilitate the development of new intelligent applications in multiple sectors.”.

The FIWARE Community is not only made up of contributors to the technology. It also acknowledges the contribution and commitment of many actors working towards building the FIWARE ecosystem, making it sustainable over time.

The OASC (Open and Agile Smart Cities) initiative, the FIWARE Foundation, Engineering Ingegneria Informatica SpA, and FI-GLOBAL have joined forces to present the opportunities that arise from the adoption of FIWARE.

The event on November 2nd, 2018 in La Plata will be hosted by the Municipality of La Plata.

Engineering Ingegneria Informatica SpA will present the City Enabler, an Internet of Everything platform, powered by FIWARE. This is the first application of FIWARE in La Plata.
