FIWARE4CITIES Book

The FIWARE4Cities Book is the first of its kind collection of officially referenced cities from around the world that use solutions based on FIWARE open-standards technologies and often open data to make the cities and territories smarter and more sustainable as well as create additional benefits from new digital solutions that were not possible before. Every year FIWARE launches the new unique editions of this globally appreciated book with the new cities and solutions as well as valuable insights into the role of FIWARE in building smart cities and featuring successful implementations and case studies.

The first edition was published in May 2021, and today FIWARE4Cities lists more than 350 Smart Cities from all over the world together with deep-dives of 145 of them with more than 155 solutions that help cities on their journey towards a smarter future. FIWARE has hand-selected the most significant and meaningful city references that work with FIWARE technologies based on open data and open standards, which in the meantime adds up to referenced implementations in over 30 countries worldwide. Among them are Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Morocco, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Uruguay, USA.

FIWARE4Cities is not just another book. It is a special combination of hands-on information and best practices, solutions fully operational, insights by thought leaders, paired with insights about trends and upcoming hot topics, and last but not least a unique city index that allows readers in an interactive mode to easily find the city they are interested in. Additionally, this book lays out the first open source city use cases and solutions that the specific cities opened up for sharing.
