FIWARE Foundation will be in Barcelona this week (29-31 October) for IoT Solutions World Congress, where it will be speaking and exhibiting as a Silver Partner.

This edition, FIWARE Foundation is part of one of the ten selected testbeds to be presented at the event. In collaboration with main partners International Data Spaces Association, Innovalia Metrology, prostep ivip association, and PROSTEP, Inc., as well as EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne), Capvidia, Georg Fischer, 3D MicroPrint GmbH, Airbus, Daimler EvoBus GmbH, NXP and Fraunhofer FHR, we have contributed to the creation of a testbed that demonstrates how IDSA and FIWARE open-source technology as well as SAMPL secure 3D printing technology can be used for providing a seamless and controlled exchange of data across digital twins based on open international standards; allowing companies to dramatically improve cost, quality, timeliness, and business results through enhanced traceability, process workflow automation and improved product and manufacturing process knowledge.

See the testbed up close in Pavilion 2, Level 0, Testbed 10.

Accompanying us at the FIWARE booth (Gran Via, Hall 2, Level 0, Street B, Stand 229) this year are 4 fantastic exhibitors. We will be celebrating our official booth opening on 29 October at 2 pm, and you are cordially invited!

DIH² – As a network of 26 European Digital Innovation Hubs, DIH² believes in the power of robotics to transform the agility of manufacturing in SMEs and drive economic growth across the EU. The initiative facilitates the connections that will enable agile production in factories where speed and versatility are needed to meet customer demand. Be sure to check out the open call that ends of 31 October for a chance to get up to 248K EUR equity-free.

micro-ROS – Compatible with the Robot Operating System (ROS 2.0), the de facto standard for robot application development, micro-ROS eases adoption and portability, and enables the interoperability of traditional robots with IoT sensors and devices, creating truly distributed robotic systems using a common framework.

Addix Together with the open-source initiative FIWARE, ADDIX, as a provider of digital infrastructure, is driving the development of a data platform for the management of IoT devices and their data.

SmartMaaS The Smart World by FIWARE perfectly showcases how FIWARE is powering up Smart Cities with connected mobility, highlighting various domains and their interactions, with a clear focus on Smart City, Smart Industry, Smart Agrifood, Mobility and Energy. FIWARE on Stage at #IOTSWC19

FIWARE Foundation CEO Ulrich Ahle will be taking the stage on Wednesday 30 October, 14:40h – 15:25h in Room 3 alongside Óscar Lázaro (Managing Director, Innovalia Association) to present ‘Zero Defect Manufacturing Using Open Source Technology’.

Digital Twin is a concept which develop in Product Engineering and is now more and more used also in other areas of the product lifecycle like in production or during operation of a product. Today this different digital twin are often created as silos with limited possibility to exchange data. The presentation will show how to solve this challenges and how integrated digital twins along the whole product lifecycle can be realized. The solution is based on the architecture of the International Data Spaces Association using the open source technology of FIWARE providing predictive maintenance services while ensuring data sovereignty. It will be explained how the Overall Equipment Efficiency is improved while at the same time the data sovereignty is increased.
