Bosolog

Bosolog is a scalable Multi-sensors and Assets' Log Monitoring and Management Software. Their innovative concept encompasses elements such as: fully automated business logics; accurate mapping; real-time monitoring of several parameters and personal alerting by exceptions; proactive maintenance; and support to tactical and operational decision-making. The use of the Bosolog product is very generic and concerns many different sectors, both Industrial Internet of Things and SmartCity Internet of Things.

Goals and challenges

The company Bosolog aims at developing a smart solution that targets existing, unmet needs in the IoT market – an innovative system for real time monitoring of valuable and critical assets (mobile and fixed) throughout the supply chain during storage, transportation and at the user site.
In order to be able to implement a succesful go-to market strategy, it is important to network before and after launching the product on the market, and they have already taken advantage of their vast network community.
Through its model, Bosolog has a variety of strategic options. Among the key strategies, they will be working with larger cities in Denmark and abroad on their smart city solutions. The first step in this regard has been initialized.

The choice of FIWARE

The major work that has already been done, especially on the FIWARE Orion Context Broker, the WStore AppStore and Subscription features in conjunction with the OAuth Single Sign on tools, spares us from many hours of development. They find several benefits in the adoption of FIWARE, with the fact that Bosolog can get to the market earlier, and them and their customers also benefit from later and further integration into the FIWARE community – as this is a very early stage.

The use of FIWARE technology

In order to make the best utilization of the FIWARE technologies, we have made extensive studies of the different generic enablers. The relevant enablers for Bosolog are:

• Identity Management – KeyRock
• A central component that provides a bridge between IdM systems at connectivity-level and application-level.
• PEP Proxy – Wilma
• Chosen because it is completely integrated with the FIWARE ecosystem. It is thought to work with OAuth2 and XACML protocols
• Orion Context Broker
• Publish and consume context information through the NGSI APIs. As component in the architecture able to mediate between consumer producers (e.g. sensors) and the context consumer applications.
• Store – WStore
• For selling enterprise-level apps and cloud services with integrated support for pricing.

Benefits and accomplishments

The open, cloud-based infrastructure of FIWARE is a great fit for Bosolog. We have used the FIWARE and IoT technologies to bring new opportunities to business and society at a global level. The generic nature of the Bosolog solution and the simple implementation, with no need for constructional changes for the customers, has created us many new opprtunities and opened us many doors in several different sectors.
