Deep Dive: Smart Industry
Accelerating the Twin Transition in Manufacturing Industry
Several trends in digital technologies emphasize the critical importance of cloud and data processing technologies for our society and economy. As highlighted in the European Data Strategy, we are witnessing a shift in the data paradigm. The volume of generated data is greatly increasing and a growing proportion of data is being processed at the edge.
What is the role of open source frameworks and solutions in the twin transition of the Manufacturing Industry? What are the new technological trends and solutions accompanying the transition from the digital side of the coin? Do we already have embryonic industrial cases where such a twin transition is already materialized? What is the role of FIWARE, its technology, and its business models in the twin transition of the Manufacturing Industry?
The FIWARE Smart Fest session “Accelerating the Twin Transition in Manufacturing Industry” aims at discussing the above challenges, identifying research, innovation, and deployment challenges to be addressed and materialized in upcoming Horizon Europe and Digital Europe Programmes.
