Deep Dive: Smart Agrifood
Empowering Agrifood Interoperability for the Digitalisation From Farm to Fork
It’s well known that agrifood is the last big industry that needs to be fully digitalized.
The pandemic fundamentally changed our minds, the emergency accelerated the urgency of a new approach for the digitalization of the sector: remote fields management, automation of tasks, robotic aid, improved production and logistic processes, analysis of the farm to fork process, and many other aspects are affected by this increased need of digital tools.
The approach of many different systems that cover part of the value chain, data silos, and lack of interoperability have highlighted the limitations of the solutions so far in the market.
FIWARE proposes a technical vision and concrete tools to proceed with a fast pace toward the system of systems evolution. A new organization of the value chain where all the steps of the process can share data and enable deeper optimization with valuable forecast to all the stakeholders.
During the FIWARE Smart Fest session on Smart Agrifood, we will discuss some of the challenges we are facing, the needs of the sector and we will showcase useful success stories on how FIWARE can accelerate this transition.
