What is Gaia – X and what are the main topics of this session?
Gaia-X is a non-for-profit organization grouping hundreds of companies across the globe to define a new generation of digital services, based on transparency, controllability and interoperability, to enable the economy of data. Users and providers of technology, together representing the voice of the market, decided to define a common set of rules each service should be verified against, and a technology framework to verify them. The project started defining its specifications in 2021, developed the SW framework in 2022, and is now ready to trigger the creation of the initial Gaia-X marketplaces in Europe. Through Gaia-X, Europe is giving a concrete translation in the market of the meaning of Digital Sovereignty.
For Gaia-X to ensure a higher and unprecedented level of trust in digital platforms, we need to make trust an easy to understand and adopted principle. For this reason, Gaia-X developed a Trust Framework formerly known as Gaia-X Compliance – and Labelling Framework that safeguards data protection, transparency, security, portability, and flexibility for the ecosystem as well as sovereignty and European Control. These and other aspect will be debate during the session.
In addition, Two panels will be organized. The first one will give an excellent overview of why collaboration is critical in all technological initiatives and approaches. Find out the challenges and experiences of the different methods during their projects, how cooperation works in the alliances, and why trust in persons/companies and technology are so important in these ecosystems.
The second one is about how the regional strategies are aligned with the different projects and the Data Spaces Business Alliance (DSBA) advantages for the Hubs and countries. We appreciate it if you want information on regional projects and how to collaborate in these countries. Also, essential initiatives in these countries will be discussed.
